"Great material to work with here! Two cute dimension hopping blokes being pursued by a psychopathic metamorphing female. I decided to render this in the technique I’m most familiar with… classic golden age comic book with brush ink and contemporary colouring. "I liked Jade in Sabrina's manga. She amused me... I in general like free spirits, and that's how she struck me. I was in a monochrome pencil mood (I've been working mostly in traditional media recently -- I really don't know why), but I wanted to jazz it up a bit. I tinted my pencil lines with a sort of multicolor to try to reflect Jade's presonality, and used the backgroudn to try to simulate stage lighting like that used at a concert." Stareyes' website

"Normally, I don't do 'busts', because then people think I can't do hands or something, but once I started this, the lines of his hair just didn't want to be cluttered with too much else, and his eyes seemed the focus anyway, so I went with it. He's still /quite/ large, taking a full sheet of my paper just as a bust, and I really like how he turned out, personally. "L. Buff, your comic makes me squeal with happiness ^_^. That said, I was very unsure of what to do for this round-just that I wanted to draw Dak because I love redheads. I finally took a simpler approach that ended up being harder than I thought because I remembered the disaster with the Christmas tree in December and my problems with lack of shading and such. All colored pencils again (except for the sky), but I think I did a better job of shading and line contrasts this time, and I'm very very very proud of this submission. L. "Terinu was such a cute character, I just wanted to pat him on the head and give him a lollypop. ^_^ I drew him as a child in my first picture, and Chaypeta does such beautiful inking that it inspired me to give it a try. It didn't come out looking any where as nice, but the hair was fun to ink! And I did a bonus picture as well, of Leeza, becuase she was just plain cool. Drawn and colored competely in Marker.
